Brook Benton is remembered for "Rainy Night In Georgia," a raw but calculated slice of southern soul. The song, though, was a fluke, a one-hit comeback from a much earlier, much longer career. Benton had an impressive string of supper club soul hits that, at times, were more supper club than soul.
